Student Laptop Loan Program

• The student is financially responsible for loss or damage of equipment and must follow all school rules while using this equipment.
• The computer is and shall remain the property of the State College Area School District and is being loaned to the student for a period of time for educational use.
• In the event of loss or damage to the computer, the student will contact the library as soon as possible to report the event.
• The computer will have filtered Internet only while at school.  If this computer connects to the Internet outside of school, it is understood that the Internet will not be filtered and Internet supervision is the responsibility of the student and parent/guardian.
• Configuration of home Internet use is the responsibility of the student.
  
• The computer will not be used in a classroom during school hours unless permission is granted by the classroom teacher.
• The student is expected to keep the laptop and charger inside the provided laptop bag when not in use.
• The student will make every effort to charge the laptop overnight before returning it to school.
• All data will be removed from the laptop upon return.

Laptop Loan Sign out guidelines
1) The laptop loan period is for two school days
2) The loan may be renewed for another two days without showing the laptop to the librarian
3) Further extensions of the loan period require the student to show the laptop for renewal; the student will need to check in and then check out the laptop. This is only available if there is not a waiting list for laptops.


The Laptop Use Form must be signed by a parent /guardian before a student is able to sign out a laptop. The sheet can then be returned to the library.  The form will be kept on file, so that the parent signature extends throughout the school year.
