The State College Area School District has a comprehensive mathematics program for students with varying interests, backgrounds, and abilities. There is a College Preparatory and a Foundations of Mathematics Program at the high school.
The College Preparatory Program is further divided into Basic, Standard, Accelerated, and Advanced levels to accommodate students' interests and aptitudes in mathematics, with all levels designed for students who plan to continue their education beyond high school.

At the high school, the Foundations of Mathematics program is designed for students who do not plan to attend a four year college upon graduation, but may attend a two year technical or trade school, or go directly into the work force.
We recommend that all students take four years of high school mathematics. Foundations of Mathematics students who do not score proficient on the PSSA math test in grade 11 are required to complete four years of mathematics.
