  • Community Meeting on the Elementary School Projects
    September 19 at 7 p.m. at Mount Nittany Middle School

    The State College Area School District administration is pursuing a District-Wide Facilities Master Plan update focused on elementary schools. Public meetings are being held to discuss, answer questions, and receive input about possible renovation and/or new construction projects.Topics will include prior master planning conclusions, district enrollment and school size, cost analysis, and proposed building and site plans including phasing.

    The next scheduled public meeting is October 19 at 7 p.m. location to be determined. (the August 15 meeting was cancelled)

  • Cheer Meeting and Tryout information:

    Students in grades 9 to 12 who are interested in trying out for cheerleading should attend an Aug. 15 meeting in the high school North Building cafeteria beginning at 6:30 p.m. Parents are welcome to attend. This will be an organizational and informational meeting of the SCASD cheer program. In addition, the new coaching staff will be introduced and will share plans for the upcoming season.

    Cheer tryouts for high school will be held in the North Building small gymnasium on Friday, Aug. 19, at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 20, at 4 p.m.

    IMPORTANT: Students must have a pre-participation physical examination BEFORE they may participate in tryouts.

  • School Bus All Aboard for the Kindergarten Bus Orientation Program
    Parents and their kindergarten students are welcome to stop by to learn more about riding the bus and bus safety rules. Participants will have the opportunity to board a bus and take a ride. Siblings are also welcome. Registration is not required.

    All sessions are being held at 10 AM and 2 PM at the following schools:

    Mount Nittany Elementary - July 20
    Corl St Elementary - July 27
    Park Forest Elementary - August 3
    Lemont Elementary - August 10
    Bus Schedules for the 2016/17 school year will be available mid-August.  

    The first day of school is Monday, August 29.  See you then!

  • Registration Office - New Location and Summer Hours

    The Student Registration Office has relocated to the district administration building (next to Memorial Field). The telephone number remains the same, (814) 231-1017. The new address is: State College Area School District, Registration Office, Room 101, 131 W. Nittany Ave., State College, PA  16801

    During the summer, Registration office hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

    New Families - Special Additional Registration times for new families are set for:

      *Sunday, August 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

      *Saturday, August 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
