Health Education Overview Health Education, as an applied science, provides current information on a variety of health areas of interest and concern to our students. Its components include knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors. Students learn to differentiate between healthful and harmful behaviors and to recognize the effects of decisions. The course also provides opportunities to gain new scientific information, learn and practice goal setting and to make plans to achieve and maintain optimum health. Health 1 and Junior/ Senior Wellness are graduation requirements. Two courses are required during the high school career to meet graduation requirements: Two Courses Offered (both are graduation requirements): Health 1 is to be completed during the freshman or sophomore years (9th or 10th grade). Junior/Senior Wellness is to be completed during the junior or senior year (11th or 12th grade). (Advanced Option available).
