ACADEMIC SUPPORT CENTER

The State College Area High School is committed to helping every student succeed. The Academic Support Center is designed to give high school students another opportunity to reach their academic potential and to prepare them for lifelong success.

Programs:
Credit Recovery - This program will allow students to make up one failed course at a time in English, social studies, science, or math using a computer-based program and teacher support from a certified teacher.  Students are encouraged to attend every day Monday through Thursday for at least one hour per day. (This program will continue throughout the summer to enable students to complete their courses.)

• Academic Tutoring - This program will assist students who are earning below average grades in English, social studies, science, or math. Students will get support from a certified teacher or through peer tutoring.  Students are required to stay for at least one hour and attend weekly.  (It is the student's responsibility to bring work and request support as needed)

Location:
Both programs will take place in the North Library from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.  Certified teachers will be available on the following days:  Monday - English, Tuesday - Math, Wednesday - Science, and Thursday - Social Studies.  Late buses will be available for transportation.
