Mrs. Gilmour, Mrs. Neal and Mrs. Reed       The mission of the Health Professions Program at State College High School is to assist students to explore health career opportunities and work with faculty and staff to choose a curriculum that best suits his or her needs.

Students enrolled in the Health Professions Program through State High's Career and Technical Training Center will receive a solid foundation in core subjects and will be prepared for post-secondary education and employment through rigorous medical health sciences courses of study with an emphasis on professionalism and high standards expected in the health field.

Students interested in medicine, nursing, dentistry, physical therapy and sports medicine (to name a few) have the option of taking the following courses:
*Language of Medicine
*Introduction to Medical Skills
*Health Systems and Professions
* Anatomy and Physiology
*Clinical Observations
*Introduction to Sports Medicine
* Health Care Evidence and Research
*Sports Medicine: Personal Training and Clinical Rehabilitation

Future program development will include hands-on experiences in the health arena at local hospitals, clinics and offices as well as the possibility of taking courses through Penn State University as high school seniors and obtaining college credit for those courses.
