Mr. Rayius's Mission
My mission is to provide a quality music education, to help students gain an appreciation for musical performance, and to inspire students to develop a lifelong love of music.

About Mr. Rayius
Mr. Rayius started teaching band at Park Forest Middle in the 2011-2012 school year.  Before coming to PFMS, Mr. Rayius taught at Osceola Middle School in Seminole, Florida from 2001 to 2011.  He graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors of Music Education, with percussion as his principle instrument.

In his spare time, Mr. Rayius enjoys listening to music (no, not just band music!), practicing his own percussion instruments, performing with the State College Area Municipal Band, hiking, traveling, geocaching, playing lacrosse, coaching rugby with the State College Area High School team, and composing music!

Mr. Rayius’s Favorite Poem

by Christopher Logue and adapted by Peter Loel Boonshaft:

The Teacher said to his students,
“Come to the edge.”
They replied,
“We may fall.”

The teacher again said,
“Come to the edge,”
And they responded,
“It's too high!”

“COME TO THE EDGE”
the teacher demanded
and they came
and the teacher pushed them
and they flew...
