 Art  Welcome to our Art Program. My name is Mrs. Sue Harter and I am very excited to be working at Radio Park this year. In the past, I hve taught art at all levels, but I especially enjoy working at the elementary level.
Art classes are held on a weekly basis in the SCASD. Kindergarten,
primary and middle level students have a 40 minute period; fifth grade
students have a 50 minute period. The curriculum is frequently based on
the social studies, language arts and science units of study in the
classrooms. In addition, the elements and principles of art are
emphasized. Great works of art by famous artists are incorporated into
most lessons ( a little difficult with the dinosaur unit!), and art
criticism and judgment (aesthetics) are encouraged at a developmentally
appropriate level.  |
