  • Straight Talk for Parents Series, October 21, 2014, 7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
    Topic: Drugs and Alcohol: What's Out There and What You Can Do About It

    Location: Mount Nittany Middle School Library

    Presenters: Ali Turley, YSB Prevention Program Specialist, and Officer Kelly Aston, State College Police

    Parents and caregivers of teenagers need to have the most up-to-date information about drug and alcohol use in the community. Join us for an informational session including a drug and alcohol overview, local drug trends, red flags for youth drug use, and tips for parents regarding how to talk to kids about drugs and alcohol.

    No registration is required for adults, and you may register children for free children's activities and homework help by contacting Connie Schulz at ces11@scasd.org to register children. Supervision of children is provided by Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, Penn State University.

    Dates for the rest of this school year include: November 18, January 20, February 17, March 17, April 21, and May 19. Some Saturday morning sessions will also be planned.

  • Information Fair -
    State High Project 30% Design Review

    Please join us! An information fair regarding the State High Project 30% Design Review will be held Wednesday, October 29,  from 6-9 p.m., in the State High South Cafeteria. The design team will present an update now that the design is 30% complete. Following the project overview, the public is invited to ask questions, provide input, and attend breakout sessions regarding specific aspects of the project. Further information and documents for review will be available on the State High Project website.

  • Commodores The "Commodores,” the United States Navy Band's jazz ensemble will present a free concert at the High School North Auditorium on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The Navy Band Commodores feature 19 top jazz and "big band" musicians offering a mixture of styles ranging from the authentic sounds of the swing era to contemporary high-energy music. 

    The concert is free, but tickets are required. For tickets and more details including a sound sample, see the Music Department Website, or email Band Director, Paul Leskowicz at pjl12@scasd.org.
