What happens if a student is not proficient on the PSSA?

The State College Area School District is committed to helping each student reach proficiency levels and to

providing extra assistance for anyone who has not yet reached that level.


Students who score Basic or Below Basic on the PSSA Reading test must:
  • Pass 12th grade English
  • Students may take the retest at the end of October


Students who scored Basic or Below Basic on the PSSA Mathematics test must either:

 

  • Take a PSSA re-test at the end of October and score proficient or above

OR

  • Pass (or have passed) Algebra 2 or College Prep Math 3

OR

  • Pass (or have passed) Part 2 of Foundations of Algebra 1
