The end of the school year is quickly approaching. Review the attached for information about remaining lunch account balances. Please note that graduating seniors will be allowed to request cash refunds of their account balance beginning May 20. High school students may not borrow from the PTSO lunch loan fund after May 20. Middle school students cannot borrow for purchases after June 7. Please make sure that your child has sufficient funds for purchases through the last day of school. All IOUs must be repaid by the last day of school.
School cafeterias are meeting tough new federal nutrition standards for school meals, ensuring that meals are well-balanced and provide students all the nutrition they need to succeed at school. Now is a great time to encourage your kids to choose school meals!
The meals served in our schools have long included lots of fruits and vegetables, low-fat milk, and whole grains. Beginning this year, school lunches will meet additional standards requiring:

SCASD Food Service Director Recognized
The Food Service Department has immediate openings for part-time employees. Hours are generally between 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. with a 3 1/2 hour day being typical. The starting rate is $9.34 per hour. Please call 231-5095 for additional information.
The SCASD Food Service Department, Chefs Lisa Palermo and Zach Lorber, and the PFMS and MNMS Fuel Up to Play Teams, work together to introduce students to healthy foods.
