Paul Leskowicz is the Director of Bands at State College Area High School where he directs four different concert bands, the Marching Band, the Jazz Band, and the Musical Pit Orchestra. Additionally, he teaches Music Theory 1 and AP Music Theory. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and Trombone Performance from the Hartt School of Music, University of Hartford in West Hartford, CT and a Master of Music degree in Trombone Performance from S.U.N.Y. Stony Brook, Long Island, New York.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Leskowicz served as High School Band Director in the Penns Valley Area School District (1997-2011) and Elementary Band Director in the South Country Central School District in Bellport, NY on Long Island (1995-1997).
Mr. Leskowicz has performed professionally on trombone with an array of artists that include Joe Williams, Marvin Hamlisch, Betty Buckley, Rita Moreno, Carol Lawrence, Carol Channing, New York Cornet and Sacbut Ensemble, New Britain Symphony Orchestra, Nittany Valley Symphony Orchestra, Altoona Symphony Orchestra, Pennsylvania Centre Orchestra, Valley Jazz Orchestra, and the Zeropoint Big Band. Other performances include a personal composition for Trombone and String Quartet with the Grammy award-winning, Emerson String Quartet.
A native of Long Island, New York, Mr. Leskowicz has been a resident in the State College school district since 2002 with his wife Olivia, a State High alumna, and their five children.
