10th Physical Education Policies and Grading Procedures
A. Attire
- Each student is required to have a change of clothing. The clothing must meet the school dress code. The following are some suggestions:

- The following are not permitted in class for safety and security reasons:
Hats Jewelry Food/Drink/Gum
B. Grading
- 25% is skill evaluation and written tests on rules and strategies
- 75% is class participation
C. Class Participation
- Proper class participation includes the following:
- Attendance
- Dressing appropriately
- Reporting to squad on time
- Actively participating in each activity including warm-up
- Participating in at least 60% of the class periods during a marking period
D. Non- Appropriate Behavior
- A student will lose participation points for the following behavior during class:
- Inappropriate attire
- Abusive language
- Unsportsmanlike conduct
- Dangerous behavior
- Abuse of equipment
- Lack of respect for peers and teachers
- Leaving the gym or class unexcused
E. Deduction of Points
- A student will lose five (5) participation points from their grade if they are not prepared for PE class, display inappropriate conduct, and/or have unexcused absences during the marking period.
F. Miscellaneous
***If unable to participate for a week or more a doctor’s note is required***
***Must have a parent’s note to be excused because of illness***
***Make sure all your valuables are locked up in the locker room during class***
