• How do I promote a student?

Posted by HELEN QUINN at 10/13/2011
You will need to reset the data for this student and change their benchmarks. Resetting the data will delete all of the work that this student had done up to this point and allow them to start the lessons over again. If you wish to print a copy of a single student's report for their records, from the main menu, choose Groups, your group, then Statistics.  Click on the student and print his/her statistics.  Then, from Groups, choose your group. Click on Students from the menu. Check the box next to the student's name. Scroll down and click on the Reset button. Then click on the student's name and change their benchmarks.

  • Should I inform parents?

Yes. A parent letter can be downloaded and modified from the Teachers' Management Module welcome page. Another good idea would be to create a link to Typing Pal Online from your web site.

Customizing the benchmarks for an individual student may be necessary for students who are struggling with the current benchmarks or for multi-age classes. To change a student's benchmarks, click on Groups in the main menu and then click on your group. Choose Students from the menu. Click on the name of the student you want to adjust benchmarks for. Make the necessary changes in the window that appears. Save.
