Student LedConferences (SLC)

At Park Forest Middle School, we believe that students should have an active voice in their education and to accept personal responsibility for their school performance.  During the fall SLC conferences, students will choose goals to work on during the school year with the help of their Home Base teacher.  They will guide their parents through a presentation explaining what these goals will be and how they will be measured. During the spring conferences, students and their parents will once again meet with the Home Base teacher to assess their year long progress in meeting these goals.  It is our hope that the SLC’s will teach students the process of self-evaluation, facilitate the development of organization and communication skills and increase self-advocacy skills.
