Teacher Corner

I began my career in the State College Area School district as a PDS intern at Park Forest Elementary in 3rd and 4th grade. Following my internship, I graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Elementary Education, in 2009. Since then, I have taught in 1st and 2nd grade multiage, 2nd grade, and 5th grade! I am very excited to be your child's 1st and 2nd grade multiage teacher this year!

When I am not busy at school, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family. Several of my family members are elementary school teachers, too! I also enjoy gardening and making jewelry. The pictures above are from my balcony flower and herb garden.

I am thrilled to be your child's teacher this year. During the first weeks of school, we will spend a lot of time getting to know each other and learning the expectations of our classroom community. Community building activities are crucial to the development of a learning environment in which children feel safe and welcome and are willing to take risks in learning. It is my goal that every student in our classroom look forward to school each day and continue to grow and develop as a learner.
