6th Grade Social Studies Ancient Civilizations
This year, the students of Room 122 will be learning about many of the ancient civilizations of the world! Through hands-on activities, research and non-fiction reading, we will be learning about the Hunter/Gatherers, River Valley Civilizations: Mesopotamia/Egypt, China, Greece and Rome. While studying these ancient civilizations, the students will be focusing on five defining characteristics of a civilization - politics, interaction with the environment, culture, economics and social organizations. We will refer to these five characteristics as P.IE.C.E.S. Geography ![]() Six teams will compete to explore the 5 Themes of Geography (place, location, region, movement and interaction with the environment)! Lead your team to the top by completing maps, brain challenges and physical activities related to our current world.
