Classroom Behavior Plan

Classroom Rules (developed with students)

1.    Listen & follow directions.
2.    Treat others the way you want to be treated (use kind words).
3.    Walk and use an indoor voice.
4.    Take care of our materials and classroom.
5.    Always do your best.
6.    Have fun!

Consequences
  1. If a student is not following the rules, the first consequence is nonverbal.  I will move closer to the student or make eye contact.
  2. If this does not change the behavior, the student will receive a verbal warning reminding him/her of the rule being broken.
  3. If the student continues to break the rule (or a different rule), then the following consequences occur:
            a.  5 minutes off recess
            b.  10 minutes off recess
            c.  15 minutes off recess, a call/email home, and possible office referral

For severe infractions, such as major disruptions to the class, or for the physical safety of the students, consequence levels may be skipped to a more severe consequence.

Rewards
Students earn 1 punch on a punch card each day for not losing any time off recess.  Students may earn an additional punch for truly exceptional behavior.

8 punches = special pencil
15 punches = phone call/email home
22 punches = free pick from Scholastic book order
