A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME...

I started teaching in the State College Area School District in the fall of 1995.  My years as an educator have been spent working with both fourth and fifth graders.  I enjoy the enthusiasm and creativity of this age group tremendously!

When I am not in the classroom, you can find me playing with my eight year-old son, Ian, and my four year-old daughter, Kate, both of whom the kids hear many stories about and see photos of them on occasion.   Speaking of stories...I love books and hold a Master's degree in Children's Literature from Penn State University.  When I'm not spending time with family and friends, I am usually immersed in the world of a book!   Literature holds a high place in my classroom, as well.  I believe in the power of stories to transform the reader and that all children are authors who have important stories to tell.
