Meet our Librarian. . . Mrs. Susan Cook is the librarian at Ferguson Township Elementary. This will be her ninth year! Mrs. Cook comes to Ferguson from New Hampshire, where she was a fifth grade teacher for 17 years and Director of Library Services for a school district for 5 years. Ms. Cook loves working with both the students and staff at Ferguson. She particularly enjoys sharing new and exciting books and hopes to help the children of Ferguson grow as confident and independent library users. Ms. Cook has always been involved with libraries, beginning in middle school, where she was a student volunteer. This continued into high school and college. After she became a classroom teacher, Ms. Cook volunteered at a local library, but it wasn't until 14 years ago that she decided to go back to school to earn a second Master's Degree, this time in library media. When Ms. Cook isn't discovering great books for children, staff, and parents, she spends time with her granddaughter, Madeline, and grandson, Nathaniel. She also enjoys sewing, quilting, gardening, scrapbooking, sporting events, and theater. Meet our library paraprofesssional: Mrs. Christina Dorsey joined the SCASD library staff in 2008 at Boalsburg Elementary School and is very happy to now be a part of the Ferguson school family. When Mrs. Dorsey isn’t helping students at Ferguson, she enjoys going to church, having straight[er] teeth, traveling, hosting tea parties, walking and candlelit dining with her husband, pizza-and-a-movie nights with her family, and, of course, reading! Please stop in the Ferguson Library to meet both of us!
