*Meet Mrs. Bechtel*

Hello!  My name is Julie Bechtel (previously Miss Harris), and I am so excited to begin the 2012-2013 school year!  This will be my sixth year teaching at Ferguson Township Elementary School.  I absolutely love being part of the Ferguson Family!  I received my elementary education certification from Penn State and completed a full-year internship in the State College Area School District.  My desire to help others and my love for children drove me to become an educator.  I recently completed my Master's Degree in Education.

I am originally from Martinsburg, Pennsylvania, a small town south of State College.  This summer was a very special summer for me, as I married my husband in my hometown.  We spent much of the summer traveling with friends and family.  In my free time I enjoy running, reading, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and playing all types of sports.  I love Penn State football and the Pittsburgh Steelers! I look forward to an exciting and rewarding year in third grade!

Our PDS Intern:
*Meet Miss Aitken*

Hello! My name is Allie Aitken, and I am very excited to begin this 3rd grade adventure at Ferguson Elementary!  I am currently a senior at Penn State University, and I am pursuing a degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education.  I am originally from Naperville, Illinois (a suburb outside of Chicago). However, three years ago my family and I moved to West Chester, Pennsylvania.  In my free time I enjoy running, reading, shopping, and spending time with my family and friends.  I am also a huge Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Steelers fan! This past summer I enjoyed working as a swim team coach as well as a lifeguard.

I look forward to getting to know the students of Room 121!  I believe teaching represents a career that offers numerous opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others, and I am continuously inspired with the profession.  I hope to motivate the students to strive past their potential and to grow as both learners and as individuals.
