Biography Collection

"The library is full of people waiting between the covers to meet you." -- Jean Fritz

The PFE Library contains all three of the following types of biographies:

A biography is a nonfiction or true book written about a real person's life. Most published biographies are written about famous people. Biographies are located in the Biography Collection of the PFE Library.
An autobiography is a nonfiction or true book written by somebody about his or her own life. Autobiographies are located in the Biography Collections of the PFE Library.  Special note: very few autobiographies are written for children.  Most of them are written for adult readers so the number available in our library is quite limited.
A collective biography is a nonfiction or true book containing shorter biographies about many different real people. Collective biographies are located in the 920 section of the Nonfiction Collection.

To locate a biography about a specific person, use the subject search in the library catalog and type in the person's name. For best results, be sure to use the correct spelling of the person's name.

We have biographies in our library about various groups of people, such as these listed below.  To do a quick catalog search for these specific groups, please use the search numbers noted below.  To use a search number, simply type that number in the Find box on the library's catalog page and choose the Keyword search.
