2011 JUNIOR JAMBOREE Menu Sessions Please click on the links below to register for your ONE menu session for June 3rd. ALL students must sign up for one menu session. There is NO waiting list so if you are unable to get the activity that you want, please select something different. Please note that some of the sessions require an excursion permit in order to participate. If you sign up for one of those sessions, and do not turn the excursion permit to the leader of your event, you will be required to choose a different session. Below is a description of the menu sessions that are being planned. Menu Activities: Bike to the Creamery: We will ride from State High to the Berkey Creamery to enjoy some of the best ice cream made. After we are finished, we coast back to school. Bring enough cash to cover your purchase. This activity generally runs a little past 11AM. Don't forget to stop by the Natatorium to pick up an excursion permit since we will be leaving the State High Campus. SESSION IS FULL! Board Games: Join Mrs. Gilmour, gather your friends and come in for a fun hour of board games! Board Games & More: Come and play Taboo or scrabble and enjoy chocolate chip waffles made by Mrs. Sutherland! SESSION IS FULL! Catch Phrase: Join Ms. Wagner and Mrs. Neal for a fun hour of Catch Phrase. Choices, Choices: Join a recent graduate and former football player from the College of William & Mary to hear about college life and how the decisions you make during those years can have a lasting effect on your life. Use this information to help you enter your Senior year prepared to make the best choices! Craft Time: Bring your own stitching, beading, friendship bracelets, or join Mrs. Becker in learning how to finger knit. Coffee and treats will also be provided! CP US History Review Session: Ms. Poveromo will offer a review session for students in her CP US History Courses from the New Deal to the Regan Era. Cricket: Join Mr. Merritt for a fun and friendly game of Cricket...don't know how to play? No problem, now is the time!! SESSION IS FULL! Current Events Game: Join Ms. Bowersox and play the popular Social Studies Current Events Game! Curses, Dutch Blitz or Other Board Games: Join Mrs. Horgas for some gaming fun!! Dodgeball: Wishing you could play some dodgeball? Come down to the North new gym for a fun, stress reliever! SESSION IS FULL! Floor Hockey: Join Mr. Schunk and Mr. Gallagher for a game of floor hockey in the old gym. Dress for activity and bring your own equipment! SESSION IS FULL! Fly Tying: Get ready for summer fishing season and learn how to tie flies to catch fish in Central PA. Fun with Play-Dough: Come be creative and re-live childhood memories with Play-dough!! SESSION IS FULL! Games, Games, Games: Take your pick from a variety of games!! Golf: Bring a clubs and come up to Community Field to work on your chip shots and short game. Hacky Sack: Enjoy some fun with friends while playing hacky sack. Jenga: Has the stress of school gotten to you? Want to see if you still have a steady hand? Then come gather your friends and play Jenga! Math Review: Just need time to get some of that math homework done? Sign up with your math buddies and come work on those final exam review packets. Ms. Ranney will be available if you need help. Mini Spa: Learn the basics to give yourself facials,manicures, & pedicures. Please bring along your favorite polish to share! SESSION IS FULL! PC Games: Join Mr. Moriarta in the PC lab for some video game fun. Space is limited. SESSION IS FULL! Quiet Time in LE: Come relax and chill in the LE Room. This session is only open to those students currently enrolled in LE. SESSION IS FULL! Relax and Read: Soon you will be finishing your last test for the year! With no school assignments, summer is a great to time to relax and read. Hear and share recommendations for the best page turners for the summer. You might even decide to take on the Class of 2012's Summer Reading Challenge. Road Bike: Experienced bikers, bring your bike and helmet and get ready to ride. Join avid biker Mrs. Neal on a tour around State College. This session may last longer than the time allotted, so please plan accordingly. Excursion permits are necessary for this activity, please stop by room 16N to pick up your slip. Roar Store Managers Work Session: This session is open to all newly appointed Roar Store Managers to get started on plans for the 11-12 school year! Senior Food Sneak Peak: Students will learn how to make the perfect omelet and then make their own individual omelet, served with toast and juice. Service Dogs: Are you a dog lover? Do you have an interest in learning about the Service Dog programs here in Centre County? Join dog trainer Mrs. Dills for an informative session. Sidewalk Chalk: Do you have some creativity you want to share? Get outside, enjoy the weather (hopefully) and make beautiful designs out in the plaza area near the flag pole!! SESSION IS FULL! Softball: Get out and play a fun game of softball with one of the North PE teachers. Please dress for activity. Song Writing (including instruments): Can't think of the lyrics for your next song or want help perfecting them? Bring your instruments, your pen, and get ready to jam (please refrain from bringing drum sets)! Study Hall: Just need to get some work done or prepare for finals? Here is your chance! SESSION IS FULL! Tennis: Get out and play a some tennis with one of the North PE teachers. Please dress for activity. SESSION IS FULL! Ultimate Frisbee: Come out to the field behind the drivers tower, have some fun, get some exercise by playing Ultimate Frisbee. SESSION IS FULL! Video Games: Have a favorite computer game? Join Mrs. Boob and relax playing some games. Word Games: Do you enjoy Boggle, Scrabble and Multi-Eight. Join Ms. Morris and take your pick!! ZUMBA ZUMBA, ZUMBA: Its not a workout, its a dance party! Certified Zumba instructor Joanne Domingue will lead the group in hypnotic Latin rhythms and through easy-to-follow moves.The routines combine intervals, fast and slow rhythms, and resistance training to tone and sculpt.
