You need to bring two checks (tryout fee and commitment fee) made out to State College Ice Hockey Club to the tryout. The tryout check will cover the ice time and will be deposited immediately. The commitment check will go towards your season fees once you agree to your team assignment after tryouts.  No checks, no tryout, no kidding!
Please try to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the tryout to allow time for completion of paperwork.  Please have the attached registration form filled out prior to arriving at your first tryout.
 
Tryout Age Groups:
 
Players in the entering the following grades are able to try out this year.  Per USA Hockey rules, there will be no cross over between Freshman and JV next season.
  • Varsity – players who will be entering 9th - 12th Grade next fall
  • JV - players who will be entering 9th - 12th Grade next fall
  • Freshman* - players who will be entering 6th - 8th Grade next fall
Tryout Dates and times:
 
Varsity:
Monday, April 22th:  6:45-7:45pm
Wednesday, April 24th:  6:30-7:30pm
  • Varsity Tryout fee = $25 and Varsity commitment fee = $350
  • All players who are interested in trying out for the varsity team and all those who will be in 9th-12 grade for the 2013-2014 season should attend.
JV:
Wednesday, April 24th: 7:40-8:30pm
  • JV Tryout fee = $25 and JV commitment fee = $250
  • All players who are interested in trying out for the JV team and all those who will be in 9th-12th grade for the 2013-2014 season should attend..  Any player who was not on the varsity team last season should attend these tryouts.
Freshman:
Monday, April 22th:  7:55-8:45pm
  • Freshman Tryout fee = $15 and Freshman commitment fee = $250
  • All players who are interested in trying out for the freshman team and all those who will be in 6th-8th grade for the 2012-2013 season should attend.
 
Note:  Refunds will only be made if a team cannot be fielded, or a player does not make the team for which he was trying out.  Results of team assignments will be posted on the scholastic hockey website.
