Student Work Center

Student Work Center

The Student Work Center is designed for 7th or 8th grade students who need more support than regular study halls can provide and who are not receiving special education services.

It is intended for the student who may need help with organization, study skills, test and quiz preparation or more frequent review of topics being taught in class.

It is a small group environment with no more than six students at any given time and the certified supervisor is in daily communication with teachers who provide information regarding which areas the student needs help.

The Student Work Center is located in a comfortable and private setting within the school library.

A student can be assigned to the Student Work Center during his or her regular study hall time. Teachers contact parents/guardians to request placement of the student in the Student Work Center. Area time is also a time for Student Work Center use.

As confidence, grades and organization improve and work becomes more well-managed, less support may be needed, and the student may return to regular study halls.
