Each school day a classroom is assigned to gather data from the schoolyard's four sites to collect phenological data. In addition to logging the temperature, rainfall and general weather conditions, students have their own journals to record their observations of the site that they are assigned to for the visit.
Phenology is the study of seasonal natural phenomena especially in relation to climate and plant and animal life. Our purpose is to record trends in weather for our schoolyard and begin to see the impact on our site.
