FROM THE DESK OF

Brian H. Ishler, Principal

May has arrived, and students have entered the fourth marking period of the 2012-2013 school year.  We hope that all students have experienced success through the year thus far, and are excited about the many events that will occur as we bring the school year to a close.

Spring has been extremely busy with many events and programs.  Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders participated in the PSSA exams in the areas of reading and math.  Eight graders also participated in the PSSA exams in the areas of writing and science.  March was also “Music in our Schools Month.”  Special thanks to everyone that participated and helped make the program a success!  Many students participated in special competitions during this time as well.   Several MNMS students also participated in the Technology Student Association state competition at Seven Springs.  Students did well and also enjoyed this event.  Our annual Memory Garden Ceremony was held on April 23. April 22 was Take Your Child to Work Day.  We hope that all students who participated had an informative and enjoyable day shadowing their parents/guardians at work.  Congratulations to all of the students and faculty members for many great accomplishments!

This is also the time of year when we like to review the student dress code.  You will find a copy in the student assignment book, and also included in this edition of the Cub Reporter.  As it becomes warmer, we ask for and appreciate your assistance in helping us monitor and promote dress that is appropriate for school.

On behalf of everyone at MNMS, we wish all students continued success through the remainder of the school year.  Please have a safe and enjoyable summer!  We will see many students again on August 27 for the first day of the 2013-2014 school year.  For our eighth graders that are moving on to the high school, best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
