    FOR KINDERGARTEN: Children five years old on or before August 31, 2017 whose parent(s) or legal guardian(s) reside in the State College Area School District.

    Children must be six years old on or before August 31, 2017 to be enrolled in first grade for the 2017-2018 school year, unless they have, or will have, successfully completed Kindergarten, and written confirmation is provided from the Kindergarten program.

    The following two options are available for you to register your child for the 2017-2018 school year. This process does NOT include registration for a charter / cyber or private school.
    Option 1: Online enrollment will open on March 13, 2017. Information about the process and how to access it is available on the Registration website at  ONLINE ENROLLMENT NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.

    Option 2: Registration at the District's Student Registration Office, located in Room 100 of Central Office, 131 W Nittany Ave., from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 
    During the summer, Registration office hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

    Documents Required for Registration
    1. Proof of birth date (birth certificate or passport). We must see the original document. Photocopies will not be accepted. Registration will not be accepted without proof of birth date.

    2. Guardianship & Custody Orders. Persons with legal guardianship or legal custody of a child must bring copies of the document(s) granting the guardianship or custody.

    3. Proof of residency in the State College Area School District (deed, lease, or current utility bill for place of residence)

    4. Immunization Records.
    Bring a list of your child's immunizations with you -- it can be a list from your doctor or a record that you have kept. Children entering Kindergarten in Pennsylvania are now required to have the following immunizations:

    • 4 doses of tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis (1 dose on or after 4th birthday)

    • 4 doses of polio (4th dose on or after 4th birthday and at least 6 months after previous dose given)

    • 2 doses of measles, mumps and rubella

    • 3 doses of hepatitis B

    • 2 doses of varicella (chickenpox) or evidence of disease 

    Physical Exam
    Pennsylvania School Health Law requires a physical exam for all Kindergarten students.  In the State College Area School District, the exam must be done no more than 12 months prior to the start of school and may be done during the school year. The exam can be given by your family physician or provided by the District at no cost. Additional information will be provided at registration.
    Dental Exam
    By state mandate all Kindergarten students are required to provide evidence of having received a dental examination.  An examination completed twelve (12) months prior to the start of school or anytime during the present school year will be accepted.  This exam can be given by your personal dentist or pvideded by the District at no cost.
