State High Thespians will be kicking off another great year with their first meeting today after school from 3:30 until 5:45. Information will be shared regarding this year's season, including cast and crew opportunities. The first meeting of the Green Sierra Coalition (State High's environmental club) will be today in room 213S at 3:30 pm.
Acclivity, State High's art and literary magazine will have our first organizational meeting tomorrow after school in Room 44 North. Any and all who are interested in becoming a part of the staff are welcome to attend this first meeting.
The first Envirothon meeting will be Thursday at 3:30 pm in room 213 south.

Best Buddies Kickoff Meeting is no longer in the South Cafeteria, but rather in 230 South (the Driver's Ed Room). The meeting is still at 6, but just a different location.

SENIORS! Do you need an ID card? If so, please request one in the North Library by Sept. 30th. You will not automatically be issued an ID card this year because of your personal senior pictures.
Student drivers are reminded to park in the red spaces. Any student parked in the blue spaces will be ticketed/towed. Parking permit applications are available to pick up in room 18 north.
Need 7 or 8 hours of community service? The Knights of Columbus needs volunteers to work community service hours in concession stands for all of the home Penn State football games. IMPORTANT for SENIORS: The deadline for registration for the October 9th SAT test is September 10th. (Late registration goes to Sept 24th but an extra fee is applied.) This is the last SAT that will get results back in time for seniors to apply to Penn State for Fall '11 and many colleges. You can register for the test at www.sat.collegeboard.com. Paper registration forms and practice booklets are available in the North Counseling Office.

Attention Current and Future Learning Enrichment students: If you have not met with your LE teacher, please make sure that you make an appointment this week. Your LE contract is not complete without finishing the necessary paperwork. If you are requesting LE OUT you must have attended a student/parent meeting, and have the following paper work: a current contract, schedule form, green parent consent form and an LE card. There are two remaining student/parent meetings scheduled for this Thursday and next Tuesday, September 14 at the High School South cafeteria at 7:00 pm. Both students and parent/guardian are required to attend.
Sports Announcements:
The Girls Volleyball team had a great start to their season this weekend. Friday the girls won their first match of the season against Dallastown. Saturday the girls battled it out at the Susquehanna Tournament finally defeating Clarion 25-16 25-14 to win it all. The team is one step closer to their State Championship goal.
There will be a boys lacrosse meeting at 3:30 in room 106 on Thursday for any boy not playing a fall sport. If you can not attend, please contact Mr. King.
Bowling Intermurals will begin on Tuesday, September 14th after school. Bus # 23 will pick up students every Tuesday after school in front of the flagpole at the North Building and bring you to Northland Bowl. A late bus will bring bowlers back to the South Building at 5:30pm. The cost for 3 games and shoe rental is $6.25 each week. If you are interested or have questions, see Ms. Abdalla (125 South), or at the Northland Lanes on Tuesday Sept. 14th. All students are welcome to attend.
Attention all students! This weeks home football game against Saint Anthony’s has been declared a Camo Out by the Senior Senate. All students should wear their finest camouflage attire to the game and help cheer on the Little Lions to victory! Come early, cheer loud, Go State! Advance tickets for the game will be available in the SCAHS North Building Athletics Complex and at Rapid Transit Sports from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm on September 9 and 10. Tickets cost $5 for students.

Advance-sale tickets for the State College vs. North Allegheny varsity football game tonight will be sold in the SCAHS North Building Athletics Complex from 11:00 am to 1:30 pm on today. Advance-sale adult general admission tickets are $6.00 and student tickets are $4.00. No student tickets will be sold at the gate. All general admission tickets will be $6.00.
The Boys’ cross-country team’s first regular meet is tomorrow at the Big Valley Invitational. On Saturday, September 11th, they’ll be competing in the Harry Groves Spike shoe meet at the Penn State golf course @ 12:30PM. Come out and see the Little Lions battle teams from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and West Virginia.
The girls’ cross country team will open tomorrow at The Big Valley Invitational in Reedsville. Next Saturday the ladies will look to defend their team title at the prestigious Spiked Shoe Invite on the PSU golf course.

Habitat for Humanity is an organization that raises money to build homes for people in need. Last year our school's club raised over two thousand dollars by hosting several events and fundraisers including the Sadie Hawkins Dance and the Annual Badminton Tournament. This year the club hopes to raise even more and begin building a home. Habitat for Humanity's first meeting is after school next Tuesday, September 7 in room 119 North. Everyone is welcome to come and help a good cause while having a great time!
