  • Elementary Cycle Days

Elementary specials’ cycle days can be found on our district's calendar by clicking here.

Additionally, you can see the cycle days on the calendar feature of our App, which is available in the Apple Store or Google Play by searching for “SCASD.”

We will be updating the SCASD calendar with the specials’ cycle days for the upcoming week each Friday. When there is inclement weather, the calendar will be updated to reflect the correct specials’ cycle day.

Please refer to your child's teacher's website for the specials that occur on those days.  This will be in place of the individual monthly grade level calendars I have been sending home.

Bus Students and Late Arrival/Early Dismissal:

Between the hours of 7:45 and 8:10  and 2:45 to 3:10 Highland Alley is off limits to parents dropping off or picking uo students.  Those times are for  school buses to drop off and pick up Corl Street students.  No cars should pass any of the buses while they are unloading and loading students even though the buses are parked in a more indented space by the temporary Main Entrance just past the second set of double doors that lead into the MPR.  Morning CEEL will be in the MPR room on the Cafeteria side (first set of double doors past the old building).

The parking lot beyond the new section is for school employees and construction main office modular workers Only.

Walkers/Biker Riders/Parent Drop Off and Pick Up:

Students will enter from the back of the school pathway off of Metz and Osmond Avenues.  Crossing guards will be at the same places as they have always been, so students who normally come from Westerly Parkway to Corl Street may continue to do so.  The guard will cross them as usual and they will then proceed to walk up Osmond towards Metz on the correct side of the road.

As students come through the pathway towards the school, they are to walk straight past the parking lot and the back side of the building past the swings.  The entrance for them will be almost directly across from the new steps to the playground where there is an indentation.  The bike racks will be close by.  As we always have had, there will be staff manning that doorway.  Only students are allowed through this entrance.

If parents need to come into the school, they will have to veer to the right to walk along the parking lot sidewalk and go around the building to the "main" entrance so they can be buzzed into the building.  When entering from this door, the parent must come into the main office (first door on the left) before proceeding any further into the school.

Looking forward to the rest of the school year!

  • Students will be admitted to the building at the student entrance between 7:55 a.m. to 8:09 a.m.  The door monitors check for students coming down the pathway after the late bell rings at 8:09 before they shut and lock the door.  Any student, who arrives after the pathway is checked and the door is locked, must walk around to the main entrance to be signed in by their parent/guardian.
