  • Ever wonder how a book is made?

    Author and illustrator Roxie Munro, who has written or illustrated more then 40 nonfiction books, visited the district as part of the library visiting author program.

  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Read!

    The Centre County Recycling & Refuse Authority 2018 calendar includes artwork by Ally Duncan and Isabel Olson, both from Gray’s Woods, and Poppy Rusca from Park Forest. Each month showcases an environmental poster done by a local fifth-grade elementary student.

  • Amy Lawrence Hearing Support Teacher

    It’s one of many constructive exchanges during a typically busy day for Amy Lawrence, the State College Area School District’s sole itinerant hearing support teacher. Most school districts rely on Central Intermediate Unit hearing support teachers, but SCASD educates enough hearing-impaired students to warrant having its own specialist.

  • International Baccalaureate Programme candidate

    The State College Area High School has been approved as a candidate school for two optional high school International Baccalaureate Programmes: The IB Diploma Programme and the IB Career-related Programme.

  • School Psychologist of the Year Award

    Dr. Jessica Dirsmith recently garnered the prestigious School Psychologist of the Year Award for Pennsylvania, bestowed by the Association of School Psychologists of Pennsylvania at its annual conference.
