Welcome to Kindergarten!
This is my 12th year in Kindergarten at Radio Park. I have been a part of the Radio Park Community for the past 19 years as I followed my own children through their elementary years right here! Radio Park was such a special place for all of my children and I am confident that it will be for your family as well!I am a resident of Park Hills. My husband, Mark, and I have 4 children. Our oldest son, Luke, loves to read and explore the great outdoors. Our second son, Jonnie, is a senior at Penn State. He discovered a love for science and healthcare while at SCASD and is a Biobehavioral Health major. Our daughter, Anna, is starting her sophomore year at PSU this fall. She is studying elementary education. Our youngest son, Leo, will be a 9th grader at State High this fall! He loves sports and has a passion for water! He is an avid swimmer, swimming and competing year-round. He also loves running and is on the track team.As a family, we had a wonderful and busy summer filled with some beach time, camping, biking, hiking and visits with family! We spent a lot of time in or near the water. We enjoyed Lewes Beach for a week as we explored the coastal area, ocean and bay areas. We also spent time at the lake for our annual family camping trip. Locally, we always love enjoying the summer warmth and sun at SPRA pool. As long-time members of SPRA, it has always been a favorite place for us to spend time during the summer.Fall is a great time of year! Going back to school is a fresh start and something to get excited about. I love the wonderful autumn colors and getting back to a routine! I look forward to the many adventures that await as I meet my new class! I am working hard to organize and create a great learning space for your child. I am anxious to welcome your child into our kindergarten family and I look forward to making it a great year for them.
My educational experience includes a BA in elementary education from St. Vincent College and an MEd from St. Francis University, where I focused on early reading instruction. I am so happy to be a part of the Radio Park faculty and proud to work alongside many fine teachers who have been inspirational and dedicated to teaching my own kids. My previous full-time teaching assignment was outside this district. I taught 1st grade for 7 years from 1990-1997. From 1997- 2008, I spent time at home experiencing and learning in ways that only parenthood can teach! After a brief period of guest teaching in SCASD, I came back full-time in 2011. Welcome to Radio Park!
