    The State College Area School District (SCASD) developed a comprehensive update for the educational model in our high school. The building project will support flexible learning spaces that maximize student-teacher relationships to boost student growth and achievement.


    Brief Overview 


     Seeks to formalize both existing and newly created communities 
    Offers student an authentic experience related to their curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular interests 
    Experience to begin in 9th grade with the class of 2020
    SLC completers will be formally recognized at graduation   
    Requirements to Earn Distinction in SLC
    • Complete interest survey
    • Earn 5 credits in electives within a community
    • Acquire 28 credits total at graduation
    • Fulfill 100 hours of supplemental learning experiences (minimum)
    • Document experiences in individual portfolio
    • Defend portfolio
