What does a special education teacher do?

A learning support, emotional support, or Autistic support teacher provides instruction to students who qualify for extra support in reading, writing, or mathematics. This looks different for all students based on their needs and is individualized to meet their goals. A special education teacher provides resources, strategies, and practices to support the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical needs of students in order to provide equal opportunities for success in the classroom environment.
