James, Elisabeth, Mental Health Clinician

Hello!

Welcome to my SCASD Webpage! My name is Elisabeth James (she/her), and I am a Mental health Clinician for the State College Area School High School. My office is in State High's H.O.M.E. Office, located in Room C037. I provide students with one-on-one counseling services and am under supervision from Dr. Katie Kostohryz, LPC, as I work towards Professional Counseling licensure (LPC). I am also the co-advisor of the Mental Health Matters Club at the High School.

Through counseling, I hope to help clients learn more about themselves, the events that have made them who they are, and overcome the struggles they may face. I received my M.Ed. in Counselor Education from the Pennsylvania State University with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in Schools and Communities. Before obtaining my Master's, I received a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Psychology from the Pennsylvania State University.

Please contact your assigned school counselor to access mental health counseling via the State College Area School District and ask them to complete an "Internal Mental Health Referral."
