    Welcome all returning and new Gray’s Woods Elementary families to the 2023-24 school year! We look forward to an exciting new year with all of our traditional PTO-sponsored activities!

    The GWE PTO is a non-profit organization serving all students, staff and families at Gray’s Woods Elementary with no enrollment requirements and no membership fees. If you have a student attending Gray’s Woods Elementary, you are automatically a member. Since we are a non-profit organization, we are able to partner with local businesses in our community and all donations are tax-deductible. We also proudly offer PayPal for easy online donations.

    Each year, the PTO provides educational and social experiences for our GWE community. We depend on fundraising to offset the financial obligation of approximately $100/student. Fundraising at GWE is completely voluntary, with several options throughout the year. Our biggest fundraiser of the year is our Wolf Pack Challenge Run each fall - other fundraising opportunities include hoagie sales, Dine Out Nights, Fall mum sale, Spring mulch sale and our annual Fun Fair. We also graciously accept family donations and offer corporate sponsorships for interested local businesses.

    Some examples of PTO sponsored events and programs include:

    • Wolf Pack Challenge
    • Talent Show
    • Fun Fair
    • Movie Nights
    • Coast to Coast Fitness Challenge
    • Visiting Authors
    • Grants for Teacher Projects

    There are many opportunities for families to be involved and we appreciate every instance of service. Volunteer opportunities range from single event support with only a few hours of commitment, to committee chairs with more sustained involvement over a period of time. We will also have open board positions at the end of this school year; President, Secretary/Communications, and one Co-Events Chair. The past few years have depleted our core volunteer group - if you are interested, please reach out to a current board member.

    The PTO board is here to serve the GWE community. Please feel free to share any thoughts, questions or suggestions with us at any time. We always welcome ways to make our school community the best it can be!

    2023-24 PTO Meetings

    Meetings are great opportunities to meet other parents, share ideas or issues of concern, get information on current committee activities, hear from our School Board and Teacher Representatives, and get the latest scoop from our Principal! Every Gray's Woods parent is in the PTO, but we hope you want to be an active member. We look forward to seeing you often! 

    PTO meetings are scheduled for the following dates and times:

    • Wednesday, September 27, 2023 - 7 PM
    • Wednesday, January 31, 2024 - 7 PM
    • Wednesday, May 8, 2024 - 7 PM

    Meetings are held in the Gray's Woods library.

    How does the PTO support students and teachers?

    Parent support through the PTO has funded playground equipment, field trips, social activities, our garden, the author’s visit, books for both the school library and classrooms, and teacher requests for special events and special materials.
