Wanted: School Bus Drivers
Mirroring a national trend, the State College Area School District is starting the school year in need of more school bus drivers. The shortage has prompted SCASD to eliminate five bus runs through consolidation, leading to longer travel times and late arrivals in some cases.

Summer Agricultural Experiences for Students
Throughout the summer, students maintained more than 25 Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) projects, which included livestock, equine and work experience projects. Students logged over 3,805 hours working on their SAE projects, and devoted over $25,120 to their efforts.

State High Seniors Paint Their Parking Spaces
For the first time ever, State College Area High School seniors were given the opportunity to paint their parking spaces. Over 200 students signed up for the event which turned out to be a huge success.

First Day of the 2023-2024 School Year
Across the district, 6,727 students revived schools from the summer doldrums and embarked on their educational journeys for the new school year.

Easterly Parkway International Garden
As stillness blanketed Easterly Parkway Elementary over summer break, one corner of the school grounds still bustled with activity. Easterly families from Guatemala spent the muggy months planting and tending a vegetable garden, reviving a disused plot with the district’s blessing.
