  • Five New Buildings, Four Open Houses!

    Opening five new buildings this fall wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our entire community. We appreciate your commitment to our students and invite you to see these beautiful new facilities during our community open houses.

    Spring Creek Elementary September 25
    Spring Creek Elementary, 6-8 p.m.

    October 12
    The State High Campus, State High and The Delta Program
    9:00 a.m. - Dedication Ceremony in State High auditorium
    10 a.m. to Noon - Open Houses

    October 15
    Radio Park Elementary, 6-8 p.m.

    October 24
    Corl Street Elementary, 6-8 p.m.

    For the State High Campus event, parking for the 9 a.m. dedication ceremony will be in the rear of the building between State High and the South Track facility. Parking for the open houses from 10-noon will be in the North lot along Westerly Parkway.

  • EnvironMentors Chapter Looks To Build On Success

    Two State High students won a national award in June for their research project after partnering with Penn State educators in the EnvironMentors program for students from underrepresented backgrounds.

    Superintendent Bob O'Donnell said, "The most exciting part of today is the change process happening in our schools, where teachers are meeting new students and developing their own classroom communities with those students, developing relationships.”

  • Helping Students Reflect on Their Writing

    Easterly Parkway Elementary School teachers Deana Washell and Colleen McCracken, along with Penn State Professor Anne Elrod Whitney, co-authored the book, Teaching Writers to Reflect, strategies for a more thoughtful writing workshop.
