MEET THE TEACHERS
Mrs. IshlerHello first grade families!! My name is Mrs. Ishler and I am delighted to be teaching first grade again at Mount Nittany Elementary School this year! I cannot wait to meet all the boys and girls who will be joining me in room 115! It is my goal to create a warm and nurturing classroom where your child enjoys coming to school each day!
To tell you a little about myself, I am an alumnus of State College Area School District. I went to Penn State University dual majoring in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. During my senior year at Penn State, I was a Professional Development School (PDS) intern at Ferguson Township Elementary in second grade. After graduation, I moved to Virginia and taught third graders for four years in Fairfax County. Nine years ago, I decided to move back "home" to State College and have been teaching first graders at Mount Nittany ever since!
When I am not at school I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Below is a picture of my family. I am excited to learn about your family too! I also enjoy running, cooking, and reading children's books! My favorite place to visit is the beach! I can't wait to learn about all your child's favorite things this year in first grade!
Thank you for sharing your child with me! I look forward to working with you, as a team, to help your child reach their first grade potential!Mrs. Bhattarai
Hi Kids and Families! I'm excited to be in room 115 again this year as a paraprofessional at MNE. I'm a parent of two girls, so I've volunteered in a number of roles over the past several years. Years ago, my undergraduate degree was in environmental science with a minor in sustainability. After returning from Peace Corps service abroad, I decided to go back to school and gain my professional registration in horticultural therapy. I love people and I love plants. Our family enjoys beekeeping, exploring the great gift of nature, reading and dreaming, and being together! I'm looking forward to working alongside the other teachers to positively influence our kids in room 115 as they journal though this year of learning in FIRST GRADE!
