Your child fills it almost daily with completed work, flyers, notes for parents, forms to fill out and items to take home. Return any papers for the teacher in this folder and have your child give it the teacher.2. Math Folder - stays in school, where math assessments and some math work are collected by the teacher and shared at conferences.3. Writing Folder - stays in your child's desk. Contains ongoing, in-process written assignments and pieces of writing. Your child should take this folder out during Morning Work time and Writers' Workshop. This work is not taken home, but you will see it at conference time. Learning to complete assignments, edit, meet deadlines, prioritize work and keep an organized work space are important first grade skills!4. Reading Books Baggie - stays in your child's desk. Your child will periodically "shop" the classroom books for good fit, high interest and challenge books to keep handy for reading throughout the day.
