A school library is a unique place: it is both a classroom and a gateway to reading! And since I serve EP full-time, 5 days a week, ours is open every school day. My students have weekly instruction covering concepts specific to literature, use and organization of the library, technology, and research methods. I strive to create meaningful learning opportunities with which students can build a strong foundation of skills and a lifetime love of reading.
In addition to instruction, my library offers a wide selection of materials to meet the reading and information needs of all students. It holds more than 11,000 items.Borrowing ProceduresI encourage all students to visit me often, not just once a week on their "library day." Students may checkout books any time during any school day.
All materials are borrowed for 1 week and may be renewed more than once if not finished (please bring books back to renew). Students may reserve books that are in-use by others. We do not charge fines or late fees, but do ask that students be responsible for all materials they borrow, and cover any damages or loss. Good book care is important! For complete info on SCASD's student borrowing procedures, click here
