State College Area School District ELD Department

Our ELD teachers provide English curriculum-based language instructional programs at the elementary, middle and high school level.  ELD teachers at the middle and secondary level also provide social studies curriculum. ESL teachers collaborate with regular education teachers on integrating students into mainstream classrooms and provide information on effective methods and materials for use with English Learners.  ESL teachers also help determine appropriate scheduling and class placements for English Learners. Our ELD teachers are an important link between family and school and strive to assist international families as they adjust to our local community and culture.
