Spring Creek Title I Parent Family Engagement Policy
Spring Creek Elementary School Title I Parent Advisory Council (PAC) will do the following to help involve parents:
Teachers and parents will work together during Parent Advisory Council meetings to develop a policy that everyone can agree upon.
*The policy should be easy to understand. If parents need to be informed in another language or by other means, the school will take appropriate steps to ensure that the parents are able to understand the documents or conversations.
*All parents of Title I students will have access to the policy.
*We will make the polisy available to the community and update it when necessary depending on the needs of the parents.
Spring Creek Elementary will involve the parents in the planning, review and improvement of the school’s Parent Engagement Policy.
*Parents will be asked for their input into the Parent Engagement Policy through emails sent home at the beginning of every year and the end of the year Parent Survey.
*Parents will be asked for their input into the Parent Engagement Policy during the annual Title I Information Meeting.
*Parents will be invited to Parent Advisory Council meetings to help revise the Parent Involvement Policy to reflect the current needs of the parents.
Spring Creek Elementary will hold parent meetings at different times of the year, week and day.
*Through parent emails and surveys throughout the year, parents are asked to give their opinion on which time of year, day of week, and time of day is most convenient for them to meet.
*Parents are also notified that there are funds to cover reasonable and necessary expenses such as transportation, childcare, or home visit expenses to enable parents to participate in the school-related meetings and training sessions.
Spring Creek Elementary School will inform parents how they can be involved in the planning, review and improvement of Spring Creek Elementary School’s Title I program and about timely information about the Title I program.
*Parents will be informed of this during our Back to School Title I Night, Parent Advisory Council meetings, the school-related meeting and training sessions.
*Parents will be informed primarily through emails.
Spring Creek Elementary School will describe how the school will provide parents of participating children with a description and explanation of the curriculum in use at the school, the forms of academic assessment used to measure student progress, and the proficiency levels students are expected to meet.
*The annual Back to School Title I parent meeting
*The October and April parent/student/teacher goal setting conferences
*Individual parent/teacher conferences or IST meetings
*Title I parent meetings throughout the year
Spring Creek Elementary School will describe how the school will provide assistance to parents in understanding the State’s academic content standards and student achievement standards, local academic assessments and how to monitor a child’s progress and work with teachers to improve the achievement of their children.
*Parent training workshops
*Title I teachers’ websites that have links to other helpful resources for parents
Spring Creek Elementary School will provide, if requested by parents, opportunities for regular meetings to formulate suggestions and to participate, as appropriate,in decisions relating to the education of their children, and respond to any such suggestions as soon as practicably possible.
*Title I Meetings
*Parent surveys at the beginning and end of year
Spring Creek Elementary School will describe how the school provides materials and training to help parents to work with their children to improve their children’s achievement, such as literacy training and using technology, as appropriate, to foster parent involvement.
*Through emails, websites, and workshops Spring Creek Elementary School will provide parents with information on how to better help their children improve in school.
