    My Teaching Philosophy
    An Open Window
I like to compare my role of teaching a world language to the metaphor of an "open window". A window can offer sunlight, a peaceful breeze, or a beautiful view. Just as a magician pulls a rabbit out of a hat, I like to make new windows appear in my classroom. With this idea I intend to take my students on a journey of self-discovery by encouraging them to question “why” and “how” other cultures think and act, and to reflect it back to their own personal and social experience.
I believe it is my responsibility as a teacher of world languages to take my students from the microcosm of the classroom to the macrocosm of the world, to bridge the gaps between us, and encourage them to take the risk of examining the limitless power of their imagination.
