Mystery Readers come to the classroom and read to the students. They provide the teacher with 3 clues before coming and the students try to figure out who they are before they arrive. The mystery reader can choose to bring an appropriate book with them (one that is age and topic appropriate and will take about 15 minutes to read) or I can provide one for them. Upon arriving into the classroom, they will introduce themselves and then read the book. After reading, they will share with the class why reading is important to them and/or how they use reading in their profession or everyday life. Then, we have a brief Q & A. We wrap up our mystery reader session with a picture.
