• All About Me!

After graduating from the Pennsylvania State University, I began my teaching career in 1993, working with first and second graders at Fairmount Avenue Elementary School then moved to Easterly Parkway in 2001.  For three years, I stepped outside of my classroom and served as a professional development associate (PDA) or supervisor of Penn State elementary interns in the State College Area School District and The Pennsylvania State University Professional Development School (PDS).  Through this opportunity, I was able to observe and teach in other K-6 classrooms throughout our school district; collaborate with teachers, interns, and other PDAs; co-teach the social studies methods course; and co-facilitate the PDS.  The experience to work in this partnership was extremely rewarding, serving as an excellent way to grow and learn as a professional.  I was so happy to return to Easterly Parkway and apply all I have learned!

I live in the State College area with my husband and two children.  As a family, we enjoy traveling to places like New York City, Charleston in South Carolina, and Chautauqua Lake in New York.  We have spent a lot of time swimming, kayaking, and fishing, as well as, walking our dogs.  Overall, we stay very busy!

Besides spending time with my family, I love reading!  I read a lot of books this summer.  I also learned how to create mosaics last year with my students so have been working on making one of my own.  Well, that is a little bit about me!  I'm looking forward to learning more about you=:)
