Ebola Information
While Ebola continues to pose little risk to the general population in the U.S., State College Area School District (SCASD) and Penn State officials are carefully monitoring the situation. SCASD, Penn State health professionals and administrators are closely following all recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) and are in regular communication with those agencies. The following extra precautions have been put in place in the State College Area School District's Registration Office:
- All families new to the District are asked to report if they have traveled to any of the infected areas in Africa in the last 21 days.
- Any family that has reported that they have traveled in
the areas in the time frame will need to report their travels to the DOH and/or confirm the DOH is aware of their travels.
- The registration office will notify the Certified School Nurse (CSN) in the buildings the children are attending and the CSN will contact the family to monitor their symptoms.
