Mandated Reporting Procedures
-
All SCASD employees are mandated reporters under Pennsylvania law, and are required to report suspected child abuse immediately. If the child you would like to make a report on is in immediate danger, call 911 first, then follow with the report.
There are two ways to make a report:- Make an electronic report using the the PA Child Welfare Portal. You need to create a Keystone ID account to make an online report. (You can register for a Keystone ID account even if you are not making a report, and it is recommended that you do so prior to making a report.)
- Call Childline (1-800-932-0313) to make a report. You also are required to complete a CY-47 form. You can type the information on the form and then print and mail or fax the report. The CY-47 form must be submitted within 48 hours to the Children and Youth Services office in the county where the alleged abuse occurred.
