Meet Mrs. Henderson

  • Hello!  My name is Mrs. Henderson, and I am so excited to be your teacher this year.

I began my teaching career at the Pennsylvania State University with the PDS program in 2011.  I taught for the full year in a first and second multi-age classroom at Park Forest Elementary.  After completing my internship, I moved to Fairfax, Virginia and taught at Freedom Hill Elementary.  There, I had the opportunity to teach fourth grade for three years and second grade for my final year.  Additionally, I got my master's in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Math Specialist.  I moved back to State College in 2015 after getting married and taught second grade at Corl Street.  I am really excited to make the transition to gifted support teacher this year!

My husband and I have two daughters-- Sophia who is 5 and Ella who is 2. We had so much fun this summer eating lots of ice cream and swinging at the playgrounds. We also ventured to Lewes, DE. I'm sure you will hear plenty of stories about my girls. Outside of school, I love to cook. I also enjoy being outdoors, whether it be going on a hike or exploring a new place.

I cannot wait to get to know more about you and your family this school year.  If you even need to contact me, please feel free to reach out to me at
