The following sites are great places to find current events written for students and perfect for middle school journalism students. 

• CNN Student News: A daily news broadcast for students. Also includes discussion questions and links to articles for further information.

• Social Studies for Kids: Up-to-date information on current event topics including such topics as the environment, education, US events, world events, science, and Egypt and Africa.
  

• Student News Daily: Features news and current events with specific articles highlighted each day. Includes an end of the week quiz.

• PBS Speak Out: Features current event articles and videos geared towards students.

• SchoolTube: This site features educational videos for both students and teachers. Journalism videos can be found through a basic search of the site.

• Time for Kids: This site features current event articles appropriate for students. Goes hand-in-hand with Time for Kids teacher site.

• Newseum: Interactive news museum.
• Tween Tribune- This site features topics about animals, fashion, entertainment, school, science, technology, national and world news written by kids and professional journalists.
• Daily Read-This site curates articles from the world's most reputable newspapers, magazines, or even podcasts and bring them to your fingertips. Daily there are two or three new articles that are important, interesting, and relevant to what is happening around our communities and the world.
• Newsmap- Visual overview of global news. Size changes based on popularity.
• Euronews- Euronews provides a short video with the written transcript for global news stories.
